From Coworking Chats to a Global Surf Business Community

Back in 2016, Peter Fabor, founder of Surf Office, and James ‘Mammoth’ Marshall, the mind behind SETT Surf, found themselves working side by side in one of Peter’s co-working spaces. What started as casual conversations quickly turned into deep dives into each other’s business challenges.

They exchanged ideas, offered fresh perspectives, and realized how powerful it is to collaborate with someone who brings a different skill set and outlook. The stoke was real, and they knew they had to share this energy.

They decided to create a dedicated, in-person experience where surf-driven entrepreneurs could come together to connect, collaborate, learn, and get inspired.

After reaching out to some of their favorite local and international surf and lifestyle brands, the very first Surfpreneurs Summit was born. That weekend in Lisbon brought together a passionate group who gave insightful talks, solved real-world business problems in mastermind groups, enjoyed amazing food and waves, and formed long-lasting friendships.

The buzz didn’t stop there. Everyone left energized and excited to apply new insights to their businesses—and asking, “When’s the next one?”

That momentum sparked the creation of the Surfpreneurs online community—a space to share knowledge, inspiration, and stoke between summits and local meetups.
